EMPLOYMENT & CAREERS COUNSELLING

Keith Carter & Associates have been acting as employment consultants since 1984 to both individuals and statutory agencies.

These services include employment and careers counselling as well as direct job search services. Our careers counselling service may be particularly helpful following:

  • Redundancy
  • Unemployment brought about by accident or changed circumstances It is also useful to those already in employment, but who may wish to: - Gain advice on alternative employment - Assess their career potential - Gauge their worth in the market place

Meeting clients’ needs

Person careers counsellor: each client has their own careers counsellor who works with them throughout the period of career change.

Assessing client’s capabilities: the client’s experience and qualifications are explored in depth. Identifying client’s potential: time is taken to identify each client’s potential and to recognise relevant and realistic career options.

Upgrading skills: the acquisition of new skills is considered, particularly where additional training might substantially improve the chances of finding suitable employment.

Identifying client’s motivators: emphasis is placed on identifying these, eg. money, power, status. Career profiling: an initial appointment normally covers all of the above, after which a full career profile is produced to summarise employment options. Flexibility in KCA’s approach Our programme has been developed over many years to make it flexible enough to meet a wide range of clients’ needs. Some clients may just want an initial consultation and career profile while others may opt for a wider programme to include some or all of the services shown below.

  • Preparation of a curriculum vitae
  • Interview training sessions using role playing techniques
