Keith Carter & Associates have been providing expert evidence since 1984.
During this time we have compiled over 13,000 expert employment reports for 1,800 firms of solicitors and have therefore built up an excellent database of employment evidence which provides the essential foundation for our work. Reports are undertaken on behalf of claimants and defendants.
We are Law Society checked and are members of both the British Academy of Experts and the Expert Witness Institute. We write regularly for legal journals. KCA’s involvement in matrimonial cases usually stems from disputes regarding the level and duration of maintenance payments. In such cases we typically apply our expertise to assess the current and future employment position of the person in receipt of maintenance.
Meeting clients’ needs
Original research: we may investigate a range of factors, such as local job availability and skill shortages, work patterns among women (if appropriate), the effect of age on employment prospects and earnings in relevant occupations.
Assess earnings potential: when undertaking research we would consider the following: - whether their remuneration is in line with their skills, experience, occupation and geographical area - if higher earnings are available, eg., through promotion, training or changing jobs - their likely age of retirement - if the person were not working we would consider: - the opportunities for the person to obtain work, whether training is needed and the type and duration of such training - the length of time it might take to find work - the level of earnings that can be expected
A range of scenarios: our reports may plot two or three scenarios reflecting possible career paths.
Solicitors who have instructed us in this area include:
