On 24 January 2017, the UK Supreme Court rendered its judgment in the highly-anticipated Miller v Secretary of State for Exiting the EU. By an 8-3 majority, the court held that in order to start the formal process of leaving the EU, the Government must first seek the approval of Parliament.
