Offshore Oil & Gas Industry

Throughout our history, KCA has been involved in a considerable number of cases relating to the offshore industry

Throughout our history, KCA has been involved in a considerable number of cases relating to the offshore industry, providing numerous labour market assessments across a wide range of occupations, within a sector where information is not always readily available in the public domain.

Depending on where a particular occupation is located within the industry, these can be categorised into direct and indirect positions.

The majority of KCA’s work involving offshore cases have been related to direct roles, defined as positions directly operating within the offshore industry. Those that fall under this heading include positions such as Offshore Crane Operators, Offshore Industrial Painters, Roughnecks, and ROV Pilots.

Due to the volatile nature of the industry, KCA closely analyses the state of the offshore sector, frequently monitoring, for example, the price of crude oil, potential offshore projects in development, as well as making note of any mergers or acquisitions, or companies announcing redundancies, thereby assessing the extent to which each job role may be affected.

KCA has experience in dealing with cases related to indirect roles also, these positions operating within the periphery of the offshore sector, providing goods and services to the industry. Drawing on our experience, these have in the past included a wide range of positions, from office-based roles such as Press/Marketing Officers and Senior Buyers, through to more technical roles such as Helicopter Pilots.

With indirect positions also susceptible to the recurrent peaks and troughs of the offshore sector, as with direct jobs, we provide detailed analysis on industry data and market trends to help forecast how the industry, and the jobs connected to it, may fare moving forward.
